Meet The Owner
Charlie Harris
Charlie Harris is the owner and operator of Northern MI Forestry. With over 30 years of experience in harvesting standing timber, he started as an operator for a mill in West Michigan and has since continued his forestry education through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
Charlie is meticulous in reviewing land surveys for estimates, and takes the time to listen to all of his clients’ concerns and desires for their land. He is honest and upfront about what will best serve their needs.
His favorite experience while harvesting is when he is running his large machinery and sees whitetail deer mere feet from him, feeding on tree tops and limbs he just stripped from a tree. Those encounters assure him that he is where he is meant to be, working to better the ecosystem for his client and the future of Michigan.
